Welcome!

Welcome to the Online Seminar for Quality Assessment Design: Science!

This workshops is designed to help you  focus on the attributes/hallmarks of a leaner-centered assessment and will allow teachers and administrators to collaborate on assessment design.  The goal is to increase participants’ understanding of what a quality assessment looks like and provide you with the tools necessary to create a quality assessment of your own

Throughout this two week online study please feel free to share anything you have learned thus far and ask any and all questions so that everyone can learn together!

My name is Jessi Toepfer and I will be your facilitator for this online workshop. I currently work at O/N BOCES as a PD Specialist and I am here to help in any way I can.
My work contact information:  Jtoepfer@onboces.org      (716)-731-6800 ext. 3758
My email for this Blog is: Jccheer26@gmail.com
Please dont hesitate to contact me for anything that you may need!

The last date of this workshop is Friday, November 20th, 2015. I will submit all certificates for 15 credit hours upon completion of all your posts by Monday, November 23rd , 2015. If you have any required forms that need to be filled out for your district I will be happy to get those sent back to you ASAP. It is your professional responsibility to participate in the workshop to the best of your ability in order to receive the 15 credit hours of PD. I ask that you comment at least once on your own for each post I create and respond to a minimum of one other persons comment per post.
Please note, because this is a 2 week course for 15 PD hours it will be very fast paced with a new post almost every day. To fully engage in what this workshop has to offer it is important to not fall behind so that you are able to have quality conversations with all participants. I ask that you please complete all of week one's tasks before the start of the next week in order to keep us all on the same page.

To create a profile you can click on the upper right corner
(Sign In) and this will also connect you through your Gmail account so that your name will be shown.(Often this does not work with a school-issued Gmail, you must use a personal one)  If you choose to comment as Anonymous, please always sign your posts with your name. Some tasks that we will be completing will be done through google docs and forms so having a Gmail account is important but you can create a Google Account using any email address.  (If you need any help creating a gmail account please let me know asap)
Before beginning class  please create your account by signing in (top right-hand corner of the blog)

CSIPD (Center for School Improvement and Professional Development) is holding online workshops and we hope to continue to do this to better meet the needs of our Component  Districts and Teachers. Please feel free to give any feedback to me throughout this course and there will be a final course evaluation given in order to help us better help you! Thank you in advance!

  1. I look forward to learning what quality assessment look like and the tools that can be used to create them. Our district is in the process of using e doctrina to align the assessments we administer with our curriculum.
