Here is a link to a 4th grade unit on Energy: CLICK HERE

-What do you notice about the Practices, Core Ideas and Concepts related to Energy? Do you see a change in the way we instruct in Science, and how does this then relate to assessment and what we are trying to collect evidence of?

(these could be examples you currently use or you can develop ideas for future use)

Task 3:

Start the webinar at 3:15 and watch until 12:00

How we assess students:

Comment on the following:

- Refer to page 3 in your workbook; choose one moment that you currently use in your Science instruction in order to assess and share what this assessment tells you about your students

Blog Conversations will all be done in this forum. In order to respond to my post you must comment at the bottom of the conversation. In order to reply to other people's comment you will hit "reply" under their comment.

To begin, please share with everyone your name, school district, title, background in Science (what grades or Curriculum do you teach), and one goal you have this current school year in regards to your Science instruction.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Online Seminar for Quality Assessment Design: Science!

This workshops is designed to help you  focus on the attributes/hallmarks of a leaner-centered assessment and will allow teachers and administrators to collaborate on assessment design.  The goal is to increase participants’ understanding of what a quality assessment looks like and provide you with the tools necessary to create a quality assessment of your own

Throughout this two week online study please feel free to share anything you have learned thus far and ask any and all questions so that everyone can learn together!

My name is Jessi Toepfer and I will be your facilitator for this online workshop. I currently work at O/N BOCES as a PD Specialist and I am here to help in any way I can.
